Chicken Curry With Tomatoes (Murgha Kari)

4 medium onions, chopped
2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoon curry powder
3 lb chicken, cut up and skinned
1/2 cup butter or cooking oil
3/4 cup hot water
1 cup tomato sauce
Use a large casserole or skillet with lid. Cook onions and curry powder in butter for 10 - 15 minutes. Add tomato sauce and salt. Place the chicken in this sauce. Cook uncovered over medium heat, turning frequently until sauce becomes quite dry and meat is tests done with fork, about 15 minutes. Add hot water, cover and cook over low heat for 5 minutes.
