Banana Chutney (Margaret O'sullivan)

1 kg bananas; sliced
1 kg apples; peeled/cored/diced
500 gm onions; finely chopped
500 gm seedless dark raisins
100 gm preserved ginger; finely chopped or minced
2 fresh chillies; seeded & finely chopped o
3 teaspoon salt
5 cup vinegar
2 cup sugar
Put all ingredients except sugar into a pan and bring to the boil. Add sugar and stir until dissolved. Simmer for 2 hours, stirring occasionally, until thick. Pour into jars and seal.
