Coriander/Cilantro Chutney

3 cup lightly packed cilantro --
1 (don't use the stems
1 fresh, hot green chilli --
1 coarsely chopped
1 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground roasted cumin seeds
1 freshly ground black pepper
Combine all ingredients in the container of an electric blender. Blend, pushing down with a rubber spatula several times, until you have a paste. Empty the paste into a small non-metallic bowl.
This relish/chutney goes well with Indian appetizers like samosas, pappadums and also on plain bread as a spread.
Serves 4-6.
